Get Involved and Join our Board of Directors

Between now and the end of the year The First Tee of San Joaquin is accepting applications to join our Board of Directors. With the growing number of facilities delivering our Life Skills Experience throughout the country, The First Tee has laid the operational foundation for a bright future and now is your chance to get involved. We are looking for community leaders who desire to make a difference in a child’s life, so please click here to download the application today. The First Tee of San Joaquin teaches our Nine Core Values and Life Skills Experience programming not only to create better citizens but to help kids learn critical thinking skills. I have devoted my career to workforce development and one of the reassuring things I can tell you about our great country is that over time, workers and companies are pretty good at figuring out the most productive ways to get together. However, there is a clear trend emerging: tomorrow's jobs will require people to add more value than ever before. That's actually not so bad, economically speaking, increased efficiency are the lifeblood of any economy. But it does mean that as we tackle the topic of creating jobs for our kids, we must realize that the sustainable ones will be those built from a human being's unique abilities like civility and critical thinking skills. So, if we are truly committed to creating opportunities for our children we need to teach them the Nine Core Values embraced by The First Tee -- kids with these skills will help set the stage for companies to create tomorrow's goods and services. All told, when you hear our chapter leaders, coaches, and board members say to you that "we are so much more than a junior golf program" we mean it. The commitment of chapter volunteers, support of local business and political leaders, and backing of the golf industry all contribute to seeing that The First Tee’s program positively impacts thousands of lives and we welcome you to our team.
